Articles of Engineering Monster will deliver the story of Nissan ARIYA. Behind stories by engineers who gave Life to New EV crossover "Nissan ARIYA" will let you explore the Nissan spirit together with introduction to Nissan Intelligent Technologies.
Dramatically evolved platform and IT provide an unprecedented driving experience.
NISSAN ARIYA is a special car, different from other vehicles in two of its specialities.
First, Nissan ARIYA encompasses the latest "Nissan Intelligent Mobility" technologies. Nissan ARIYA is not just a 100% electric vehicle following Nissan LEAF. It is a completely new vehicle. For example, Nissan ARIYA has an innovative interior. Its dramatically evolved platform and IT that maximizes the car's potential to provide an unprecedented driving experience. Nissan ARIYA's technology takes drivers to a new dimension of driving experience.
Second, Nissan ARIYA is a benchmark for automotive evolution. When I was young, I saw exciting concept cars at motorshows but when they became production models it felt like they looked just like ordinary cars. I used to wonder why the production models could not be as exciting as the concept cars. However, ARIYA is different. This car is as exsiting as the concept car.
You will be satisfied with its smooth driving and the way that the car moves you as you wish just like an expert driver.
When we talk about electric vehicles, acceleration time between 0 to 100km tends to be the hot topic. If all you want to do with an electric vehicle is to make the acceleration time faster, that is really easy. However, I don't think that just accelerating fast in a straight line is an intelligent way to use its power. For Nissan ARIYA (AWD model), intelligent acceleration is achieved through a twin-motor four-wheel drive technology called e-4ORCE. Of course, Nissan ARIYA is a car that accelerates quickly even in a straight line. In addition, it maximizes performance in a variety of situations, from snowy mountain roads to wet city streets in the rain. The control technology of e-4ORCE was developed based on data accumulated from Nissan's sport cars. In fact, it would not surprise me if many of those technologies incorporated in Nissan ARIYA were installed in a sport car. However, e-4ORCE does not only provide a sport-car-like-performance. It also provides with a stable flat ride with maximum control over the vehicle sway and sink.
We think this is the most interesting aspect of e-4ORCE. The combination of the high output twin electric motors, the control technology of e-4ORCE, and "e-Pedal Step" feature that enables acceleration and deceleration with a single pedal, allows anyone to enjoy the smooth and confident driving we all desire just like an expert driver, while handling the exhilarating power of 290 kilowatts with only the right foot. "e-Pedal Step" feature allows anyone to enjoy smooth and precise driving with the confidence of an expert driver. It's truly exciting to drive and allows you to enjoy a new kind of driving experience that is in line with Nissan's DNA of creating high-performance vehicles.
I hope you see how Nissan has evolved "car" to the future.
Nissan ARIYA is a very special car that combines many Nissan's advanced technologies, first in Nissan's history. I am sure that Nissan is an automotive OEM that is always desired to produce high-performance cars for drivers. This constant desire has always guided us in our development.
In early 1990’s, Nissan produced many interesting cars such as Figaro, Fairlady Z (Z32), Silvia (S13), and the first generation Cima. All of these models looked nothing like any other car in the market, and I knew they were Nissan cars just by looking at them on the road. I am hoping Nissan ARIYA to be a car like that. - Cima is my particular icon for that.
Cima was a luxury car, but a little edgy, flashy, and naughty at the same time.
Like those cars, ARIYA is a car that asserts itself. Not only it is a next-generation car from Nissan, but I think it is also a car that somehow evokes the DNA that formed the good old Nissan brand.
I hope when customers see or drive this car, they will say, "It's Nissan, Nissan did it," and that they will see how Nissan has moved the automobile forward to the future.
